History

The seed for Spectrum was sown in late 1995 by Ken Davis and Denis Tan after their then employer, ConAgra Foods, decided to shut down its Singapore office and regional food ingredient operations. Determined to turn adversity to their advantage, the two men partnered and initiated a buy-out of ConAgra Asia Pacific’s food ingredient and chemical assets, before opening the doors for business as Spectrum Ingredients Pte. Ltd. in January of 1996.

In the years since, Spectrum has pursued its vision of becoming a unique supplier of food and beverage ingredient products and ideas. It has also founded a cutting-edge hot food vending enterprise (2003), invested in a long-standing Canadian supplier of value-added ingredients (2004), partnered with a food preparation facility to provide ingredients solutions to Spectrum’s customers (2005), as well as opened branch offices in Malaysia (2007) and Thailand (2009).
